  1. Classrooms in Northeast Ohio may look a little different when students return to school following the holiday break. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District announced on Wednesday that all schools will transition to remote learning when students return from the winter break, for the week of Jan. 3 to Jan. 7, citing a dramatic increase of COVID-19 cases in the city of Cleveland. During the 2021-22 school year so far, the CMSD reported a total of 1,713 students and 703 staff members who tested positive for the virus. (Cleveland 19 News)
  2. Cleveland’s Lead-Safe Cleveland Ordinance was passed in 2019, requiring all landlords in the city to have their rental properties certified as lead-safe by 2023. A team of researchers at Case Western Reserve University were tasked with monitoring Lead-Safe Cleveland’s progress from the start. Now, that data is available to landlords, families, renters, and anyone else who may want to see it with a new interactive dashboard. (News 5 Cleveland)
  3. Cleveland police have arrested a teen in connection with a string of recent robberies and a shooting in the Little Italy community. Investigators said they continue to look into four aggravated robberies involving motor vehicles in the area. Police said the suspects have been described as two teenage boys spotted using a black handgun with a green laser on it. (Cleveland Patch)
