- Police are investigating a shooting near Whataburger in Dallas that happened early Sunday morning. A bystander is reported to have been the only person injured and was taken to Parkland Hospital in a private vehicle. Security guards apprehended the suspect just a few miles away, and the individual was taken into custody by police. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- Irving Fire Department welcomed three new firefighters on Friday night. Jacob Hopkins, Bassiru Kamara, Trevor Stafford completed recruit school at Tarrant County College. Bassiru Kamara was recognized as Class Captain. Take a look at the happy occasion via Facebook.
- Pro gamers put away the controllers and mice in favor of suits at the Esports Awards in Arlington on Saturday. The event recognizes the top names in competitive video gaming, a billion-dollar industry these days. The awards, which started in 2016 with just 7,000 voters, have seen phenomenal growth since then: this year, over 10 million people voted for their favorite gamers.
