Has it really been six months since the PlayStation 5 was released? Wow, I think it will take some time to find the PS5 in stock.
The PS5 has reached its first major milestone, but it’s a mistake to ignore the fact that millions of people are still looking for Sony’s elusive white and black two-tone machines. It’s a little daunting to think that some people haven’t yet experienced what Sony’s new console offers, more than half a year after its launch. And no matter where your loyalty to the game is, it’s a shame.
This isn’t the ideal situation for consumers, or in fact Sony, but it has the advantage that it has already been improved in many favorable ways since the PS5 was launched in November 2020. Real-life features will be introduced, and a more attractive PlayStation limited edition will be released. Some people may find it unbearable to wait, but at least you can rest assured that if you manage to get a PS5, you’ll end up with a better console.
But what was it like to own Sony’s next-generation console from the beginning? And do you need to get a PS5 right now? To be honest, it’s not a smooth sail, but it’s clear that the PS5 is the best next-generation console at the moment.
Good things, bad things, and DualSense
My opinion on the PS5 tends to be ups and downs, both positive and negative, and often changes from month to month.
I’ve been playing the PS5 enthusiastically from the beginning, but I couldn’t wait to hear the familiar “beep” every time I turned it on. Exclusive games like Demon’s Souls, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure were all very fun. Silky smooth 60fps. (For exactly the same reason, pick up the end of Part 2.)
However, the most memorable thing is the PS5 pack-in game “ASTRO’s Playroom”. This is a truly magical experience, and thanks to the way the PS5 DualSense controller is displayed, it’s the most enjoyable experience I’ve ever had on a PlayStation 5.
When I played the Astros Playroom the first night, my partner and I happily handed over the controllers to each other and said: It’s like jumping into the water. I am grateful to PS5 because it is an important memory of the game that I will never forget.
In fact, I’ve attributed much of my favor to the PS5, thanks to the PS5’s clever new pads. I remember playing the Wii for the first time.I just used up and told people how cool it was, and how they were Had Try it for yourself. Some of the third-party implementations, and even Sony, were pretty inadequate, so I hope developers continue to use it (rainfall in your hands using tactile feedback). Like Returnal, which mimics the feeling of.
Reality check
I still love the PS5’s DualSense controller, and most of Sony’s exclusive games (with the exception of Destruction AllStars) are really exceptional. However, the PS5 has some frustrating flaws that keep me shaving my gear.
Sony’s new system has been proudly on my shelf since November, but I still absolutely hate the space age look of the console.I still can’t believe how big the bloody ones are However Fits in my entertainment center. It’s ridiculous to put it aside.
It may sound exaggerated, but I didn’t like the look of the PS5 so much that I bought it as soon as the dbrand dark plate went on sale. And let me tell you: PS5 looks so Black is much better. I pre-ordered the Midnight Black PS5 DualSense controller to complete the look.
The PS5 isn’t as quiet as it first thought. My particular unit shows coil noise when playing certain games. I mostly play games with headphones, but when I remove the headphones, I sometimes hear a high-pitched electric humming sound from the main unit. It’s not like breaking a contract, but it’s still annoying and incompatible with the Xbox Series X, which collects very few whispers.
Cash for gold
Then there’s the PS5 game itself. In terms of features, I’ve compared PlayStation 5 with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X many times, but the PS5 is definitely not worth it and requires more investment to get the most out of it. .. The big hitters play at $ 70 / £ 70, and it feels like Sony is keeping the player base in the ransom range.
Paying $ 70 for the game remains a big issue for me, and I feel unnecessarily limited when the PS5’s closest competitors have an ever-growing buffet of game delicacies. Yes, these games aren’t at least as good as Sony offers yet. But there’s a reason McDonald’s hasn’t gone bankrupt due to the gourmet burger chain.
Sony’s internal storage solution is also a concern. The PlayStation has only 667GB of internal storage for PS5 games. This is almost always a small amount if you need at least 50GB of space. Yes, PS5 SSD compression technology can help, but you should know if you can ever expand your PS5’s internal storage, or at least how much it will cost. The fact that storage capacity can be expanded on both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S since its launch further exaggerates this issue.
The PS5 also lags behind the Xbox Series X in terms of the features it actually needs. There is no support for variable refresh rates for compatible displays and frankly unknown reasons cannot output at 1440p. The lack of support from Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos also seems short-sighted. Sony just wants to push 3D audio to consumers. Games that support 120fps on the PS5 haven’t reached double digits yet, but the Xbox Series X currently has 74 titles.
Unknown future
However, if there’s one thing that Sony will continue to pay dividends to drive PS5 sales, that’s one of the strengths of first-party studios. With 25 first-party titles coming in the near future, the company must keep its promise that PS5 will provide the best games in the business. But as you’ve seen on the PS4, you can’t always reach heights.
There is no doubt that Horizon Forbidden West is as astounding as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, but it takes time to create these experiences. And what if one of them is unexploded? I’ve constantly noticed that I’m being dragged into Microsoft’s Xbox Series X just because there are more games to play correctly. now, And low prices for all monthly subscriptions. Thanks to FPS Boost, I was able to revisit the titles years ago, just as I did after upgrading my PC’s graphics card. This makes the games I already own better than ever.
Yes, the Xbox Series X isn’t available for legitimate exclusive distribution (although it’s only a matter of time before all studios acquired by Microsoft start distribution), but even without a prominent title. It continues to attract my attention. I know most of the Xbox Game Pass libraries won’t immediately compete with something like Uncharted 4, but I’m always looking for something new and exciting to play alone or with friends. I will. The service encourages you to play new games you’ve never touched before, making Sony’s traditional game distribution method obsolete.
That said, with its gorgeous new UI, compelling future game lineup, and great controllers, the PS5 still has some surprises. But Sony needs to keep moving forward, rather than waiting for its competitors to put in gear.
