First Class Trouble update 1.0 is finally here, bringing the online social deduction game from Steam Early Access to consoles for the first time. The PS5 and PS4 versions of First Class Trouble are also out now, and will be free as part of this month’s PS Plus games list, so there should be a lot more people playing the Among Us-like title this month — however, it’s not all good news, as Steam reviews aren’t happy with the game’s update, moderation, or community state.
While overall First Class Trouble is still sitting on a “Mostly Positive” Steam rating, recent reviews point to numerous complaints — including with a recent update, that one player says made the game “pretty much unplayable now.” Several have issues with the game balance being “off” despite liking the game’s concept. The majority of complaints are regarding the community, however, citing “too many toxic idiots” and reports of poor moderation, bullying, and even targeted harassment. Hopefully Invisible Walls and Versus Evil will sort these issues out as soon as possible.
First Class Trouble has launched on PS5 and PS4 and left Steam Early Access as of today to hit version 1.0, six months after releasing in beta and prompting positive comparisons with the ever-popular social deduction game Among Us — which itself is crossing over with Fortnite soon, showing just how popular Innersloth’s online game is. However, First Class Trouble hasn’t had a smooth launch as it has released to “Mixed” reviews on Steam.
At the moment there are no official patch notes for version 1.0. Update 14/version 0.9.0 arrived on October 20 and brought with it the following features:
We know that controller support has been annoying for a long time in the game. We have now hardcoded the controls for everyone.
NEW FEATURE: Controller Support:
We also fiddled a lot with the Steam Input settings so if you are using that feature you will have a much smoother experience.
In conjunction with adding controller support then we redid the entire menu to accommodate other control methods better. Now the main menu user interface is a sleek horizontal menu.
NEW FEATURE: More Character Customization We have added more opportunities to our customization system in the form of more slots for customization; now you can add accessories, beards and eyewear. So far we have a limited set of options for these slots, but we expect to add a ton to these over time.
NEW FEATURE: Overhauled Friends System Now you will search for a player using their Display Name and their unique identifier displayed at the end of your name on the main menu.
This new feature also means that you will no longer be able to change your display name willy nilly. NEW FEATURE: Block players and matchmaking bans
When you encounter someone that was really toxic and ruined the game for you we have added the capability to block the player. After a match you can simply go to Recently Played players and press the “Block Player”-button and you should not be put in a match with them ever again. Beware that this feature is experimental so it is bound to break. NEW FEATURE: Party on the main menu
A super cool feature we got in the game is the possibility to see your friends’ cool customization and character when you invite them to your party. Never has it been more important to show off your swag than now. Miscellaneous new features:
