Street Fighter X Tekken was originally released on March 6, 2012, nearly 10 years ago. It was made available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and Microsoft Windows.
The game was obtainable on Steam and came bundled with the now discontinued and outdated Games for Windows — Live service. However, Capcom recently disabled the purchase option on Steam due to an ongoing issue.
In Capcom’s released statement, it’s declared that some customers are experiencing problems during game installation which is apparently related to the Games for Windows — Live service.
Capcom notes that Street Fighter X Tekken is being disabled “temporarily” so that they may “investigate the matter further.” Additionally, Capcom promises to keep fans “informed of the progress of the investigation.”
There’s currently no word of what can possibly happen at the conclusion of this investigation, but it’s assumed that Capcom will have to create a patch that fixes the issue by removing or updating the code related to Games for Windows — Live before reenabling the purchase option for Street Fighter X Tekken on Steam.
Essentially, the Games for Windows — Live code in Street Fighter X Tekken is said to be outdated and doesn’t work properly for Windows 10 users. It’s been reported that many users have to either uninstall and reinstall GFWL or download a fan-made patch that fixes the problem.
Although Capcom will probably have to update Street Fighter X Tekken, it’s extremely unlikely that there will be any changes outside of a fix for the Windows version of Street Fighter X Tekken.
