Who is Apex Legends’ Newcastle? Leaked abilities & more

Respawn Entertainment is finally bringing their battle royale experience over to mobile. Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends Mobile, including the potential release date, gameplay, and maps.

Apex Legends has been on consoles and PC for three years now, as the game celebrated its third anniversary with Season 12’s first Collection Event.

Apex Legends is now in Season 12, and although this season has had a lot to offer, players are still looking forward to future seasons, especially with all the leaks generating excitement.

With that being said, Respawn Entertainment has decided to bring the battle royale to the mobile gaming community, with some players getting a chance to play the game early through the limited regional launch.

Does Apex Legends Mobile have a release date?

Unfortunately, there is currently no official release date for Apex Legends Mobile, but the game officially opened for pre-registration as of March 17, 2022.

Pre-registration was originally only open to players in select regions, but now players from all regions can play – except for those in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Russia, and Belarus.

How to pre-register for Apex Legends Mobile: IOS and Android

With worldwide pre-registration now open, players can sign up to play Apex Legends Mobile through the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store.

But bear in mind that pre-registering doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to play Apex Legends Mobile early. That doesn’t seem to be stopping anyone though, as over 9.5 million users have pre-registered already.

More and more rewards will be unlocked, with Mobile players receiving an Epic Bloodhound skin if 10 million users pre-register.

Apex Legends Mobile gameplay

Apex Legends Mobile’s gameplay will be inherently similar to the battle royale players know and love, featuring all of the same weapons and mechanics.

From little things like unlimited ammo in the Firing Range to detailed stats for every weapon, there are some differences that the developers have explicitly implemented for the Mobile version that have been spotted in the beta and may stay for launch.

Legends

For starters, players will be selecting from a smaller pool of the main game’s Legends. The Closed Beta currently only has Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wraith, Bangalore, Caustic, Octane, Mirage, and Pathfinder.

Interestingly, Respawn confirmed that Mobile players can “discover new mobile-first Legends with new stories to tell.” So, it seems that Apex Legends Mobile will be receiving some new Legends ahead of the main game.

Third-person

A third-person perspective is another feature only available in Mobile, apart from an easter egg players can activate in the PC and console version’s Firing Range.

In the Mobile version, players can switch between third and first-person, depending on their preference. When in third-person, players will get a better view of what’s around them, and the camera will switch back to first when aiming down sights.

Apex Legends Mobile maps

World's Edge

In the Closed beta, the only battle royale map that was available was World’s Edge. Now, with the limited regional launch, players are also able to play on Kings Canyon.

There are some other maps available for players, such as the Arenas map from the main game Artillery. This map is available in Arenas for Apex Legends Mobile and in the Team Deathmatch mode that is similar to the PC and console LTM “Control.”

The devs also teased that some new maps will also be “mobile-first,” which matches up with what dataminers have discovered. But, we’ll probably get more information on these when the full game is revealed.

As more information is released about Apex Legends Mobile, we’ll make sure to update this article, so come back in the future for more news. For now, check out everything we know about Apex Legends Season 13.
