Gundam Evolution ‘Overwatch clone’ release details for PS5 and Xbox

There is no release date for the new Gundam Evolution game yet but it’s scheduled to come out this year and the good news is that the ‘Overwatch clone’ will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Series X.

Lots of people are talking about this game and it will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The fuss has recently emerged from its exciting network test that ended on April 12th and impressed most who were lucky enough to participate.

While some fans will soon be able to experience a playtest for Blizzard’s sequel, there’s lots of exciting details about Bandai Namco’s forthcoming competitor.

When does Gundam Evolution come out?

Gundam Evolution will come out in 2022 and it will launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Series X/S, as well as PC via Steam.

The game recently enjoyed a network test from April 7th until the 12th. Another network test is planned and it will be available for PlayStation and Xbox gamers.

Unfortunately, there are no details about when this playtest will occur as of writing. We will update this article when more details about the console network and full release date are announced.

Is it an Overwatch clone?

Some people are calling Gundam Evolution an Overwatch clone because it’s a 6v6 hero genre shooter.

Fans have noticed striking similarities in the HUD, but there are a few differences worth knowing about. One is that the game will be free-to-play when it launches while the OW Standard edition currently costs £16.49 from Battle.net.

Some people have also pointed out on Reddit that the action and gameplay looks faster. Gamerant additionally notes that it comes with a point capture mode similar to Overwatch, but also offers Destruction which is more similar to the primary bomb modes in Rainbow Six Siege and Counterstrike.

There is also lots of playable heroes with unique weapons and abilities much like OW, and fans of the anime series will love controlling the iconic mechs.
