Sony patents a new PS5 DualSense controller, is this the DualSense Pro?

Sony’s DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5 has got rave reviews and has also faced some issues related to the control sticks drifting on their own. After 2 years of PlayStation 5 with no hardware updates, the highest-selling next-gen gaming console is due for some updates.
According to reports, Sony has filed a patent for a new DualSense Controller for the PlayStation 5. If the details in the Patent are anything to go by, PlayStation 5 owners are in for an even more immersive gaming experience.
The analogue control sticks on the new controller will have force feedback, imagine you are trying to drift your RaceCar in a game, and depending on your vehicle’s speed in the game the control sticks will offer resistance and vibrate.

The patent filed mentions ‘non-Newtonian fluids‘ (fluids that can change viscosity under stress) creating ‘hydraulic resistance’ in the analogue sticks. While this sounds really cool, but will it actually make it to production? We don’t know. Sony had earlier filed another patent for DualSense Controller, with collapsible analogue sticks, and that never saw the light of the day.

Is this the DualSense Pro?
Well, We don’t know. DualSense Pro could probably launch with features from both the patents, that is collapsible control sticks with force feedback, or maybe just force feedback as seen here. With the Semi-conductor issues sorting out and the demand forecast for the year looking bleak, this could be the time Sony launches an upgraded PS5 Pro along with DualSense Pro.
