It was not technically the tidbit of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live yesterday, but developers want to mark the event in general, it has now been announced that the first-party Xbox title Pentiment will be released via Steam as well as Windows 10 and 11 on November 15th. As well, the same day it’s going to Xbox and Xbox.
For those unfamiliar, it’s a pretty novel about a graphic novel called Andreas Maler who gets involved in a murderer and scandal over the course of 25 years in the fictional town of Tassing, an ancient antiquity in the second century. The game’s art draws inspiration from illuminated manuscripts and woodcuts, so players are going to have to make choice as Maler for everything from his background to the upcoming murders investigations.

“From Obsidian, this game is a historical mystery – roleplaying game – that focuses on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-based storytelling in the early 16th century Germany,” reads the official description of Pentiment. “The main character of the graphic artist caught up a series of murders in Kiersau over twenty five years. This character alone knows how to make the killers look, but his decision has lasting consequences and inexorably points the attacker closer to the fondle of the underlying conspiracy.
The Xbox One and PC will be released on November 15th. You can watch all our previous report of Obsidian Entertainment in general here.
