TESO Devs Announce Over Ten-Week Delay For PC EU Hardware Update Sparking Player Backlash

Zenimax Online Studio Director Matt Firor posted an update for the promised PC EU hardware upgrade coming to The Elder Scrolls Online. However, unlike the recent upgrade to NA, EU players will have to wait over ten weeks to see the performance update to their server despite the myriad of problems they’ve encountered for many years.

The setback concerns “critical parts, some of which are foundational to the whole service” that still are not delivered for Zenimax to upgrade the PC EU server. They claimed to have ordered the new hardware months in advance, but the timelines for the orders “have only gotten longer.”

Due to that, Firor announced it will take “about ten more weeks before all the pieces are delivered,” and of course, several more weeks for the “process of building and testing.” Zenimax anticipates PC EU will be updated and running in the game around March 2023, with an upgrade to console servers sometime after that.

This unexpected news comes months after PC NA received a hardware upgrade in May, which has EU players feeling quite sour about the whole thing. “EU has to wait 10+ patches and now has to wait another 7 months,” stated a user on TESO’s forums, voicing how many others responded to the situation. Another mentioned how they couldn’t understand the choice to upgrade NA first when EU has historically had “the most problems and has the higher population,” calling Zenimax “incredibly Americentric.”

Whether that’s the case or not is up to you, but from Zenimax’s actions, it’s clear that the EU’s issues have not been dealt with and are beginning to turn off its players. What do you think? Let us know below!
