PS5 stock live: Argos, ShopTo and BT are still selling the console at its old price

Clearly, size isn’t everything. Sony has reportedly just released a lighter version of the PS5 (again, we know), but it’s still going to cost the same inflated price as it does now. Last year, Sony released a lighter console and reconfigured the machine.

Australia is again the first country to get the lighter console. According to Push Start, the digital edition console is 200g lighter, while the disc edition console is 300g lighter. Sony usually makes its consoles lighter by swapping out the components. Last year, it changed the heatsink.

Bundles at Currys have just become more worth it. While it seems like the retailer has amended the prices of its PS5 disc edition console and PS5 digital edition consoles (both out of stock when bought separately), the bundles haven’t gone up in price – yet!

The cheapest disc edition bundle costs £599, and it comes with Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. After the increase, this bundle should go up to £629.

In a way, the price hike has helped some retailers. While EE has previously inflated its prices, right now, the mobile network hasn’t increased the bundle’s price by £30. The bundle with Horizon Forbidden West and an extra controller still costs £582.

Game is selling this exact bundle for £594.97 – yep, that means it used to cost £564.97.

If you’re an EE pay-monthly customer, it might be worth getting this bundle before the price goes up. EE and Game are the only retailers selling this bundle right now.

If there’s ever been a better time to be a BT Broadband customer, it’s definitely now. The only retailer selling the digital edition console (as part of a bundle, mind) is the BT Shop. The good news is that it’s currently selling the console at its old price, so it’s suddenly become more worth it.

You can either get a PS5 digital edition console, Horizon Forbidden West and an extra controller for £459.99 or a PS5 digital edition console with Horizon Forbidden West for £409.99. Again, you need to be a BT Broadband customer to get an access code, or you just won’t be able to add it to your basket.

A new PS5 bundle has just dropped at John Lewis & Partners. The retailer is currently selling a PS5 disc edition console with a copy of Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and an extra controller for £629.99.

We’ve done the maths, and this bundle costs neither its old price or the new price. It’s somewhere in between. All of these items together should technically cost £615.98 at its old price. At the new price, it should cost £649.98. It’s still closer to its old price though, so still worth a buy if you’re interested in the two games and the extra controller.

Very is the only retailer currently selling the PS5 console on its own, without any games or accessories, but it costs £479.99, rather than the £449.99 that it would have costed a few weeks ago. It’s now more worthwhile to pay an extra £20 and buy a bundle with Horizon Forbidden West from any of the retailers below.

Still, if you want to buy the standalone disc edition console, even though it’s gone up to £479.99, we won’t judge.

There are quite a few different retailers selling the official Sony PS5 Horizon Forbidden West bundle, but some are selling it at its new £529 price tag, rather than the £499 price of yesteryear.

It might be a good morning, but it’s also a sad day because we’re starting to see the PS5 console tick up to its new price at a fair few retailers, including PS Direct, Very and Game. The price hike was announced last week, and bumps the PS5 (and therefore bundles) by £30. There are still a few bundles in stock, costing the previous £409.99 price tag, but it’s not clear as to when these will also change in price.
