In Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, fans can explore a new take on the famed New York City firehouse that doubles as the fictitious headquarters of the Ghostbusters. Among the highlights include the main floor, home to the Ecto-1, along with a high-tech lab and the basement, which houses one of the most crucial pieces of equipment, the Containment Unit.
In a new screenshot uploaded to the Spirits Unleashed Instagram page, it appears that since the happenings of the first film, which saw Walter Peck’s questionable and boisterous demand to “shut it off,” the grid has received a few notable upgrades.
Now featuring an overall larger design and visual screen that showcases different prompts, it’s been confirmed by developer Illfonic that the Containment Unit will function similarly to what was seen in the first film. This means that once you get back from a successful call, it’ll be up to you to unload the troublesome specter into storage. Just remember the pro-tip from Ray Stantz, “the light green, the trap is clean.”
Over the past several months, gameplay footage of Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has shown off the basement area, with the most recent being a live Twitch stream hosted by Illfonic. If you missed the stream, check out our full recap below, with a brief look at the basement at around the 1:13 mark, which showcases an “EMPTY TRAP” message from the Containment Unit.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed allows fans to either pick up a Proton Pack or wreak havoc as a Ghost, with the cross-platform multiplayer game set to launch October 18th on PC from Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
