Trails from Zero on PS4 is graphically inferior to Nintendo Switch, PC ports

If you’re looking forward to playing The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero on PS4, you might want to keep your hopes in check, as it looks like PlayStation players will love the game graphically compared to the game at release. There will be saddles with inferior versions. on PC and Nintendo Switch.

There are some reasons for this, viz James Glazio at the RPG site relay, but in essence, it comes down to a difference between ports. Nihon Falcom developed Trails from scratch, and it was originally released in Japan in 2010 for the PSP. A remaster for PS4 and Vita known as Trails from Zero Kai was released in 2020, again only in Japan. Neither has ever received an official English translation. The issue is that the PC and Switch versions of the game were handled by PC modding icon Durante aka Peter Thomann, and his studio PH3. Both will receive the quality of life and graphical improvements that were present in Kai and Beyond, and thus will not be present in the PS4 version of the game.
