Upcoming PS5, PS4 games for September and October 2022

Welcome to our latest (and a little later than usual, sorry!) roundup of all the great games coming to retail for PlayStation 5 and PS4 over the next few months.

Below, we’ve put together our usual list of exciting games headed to both systems during September and October. You’ll find some highlights handpicked by us, as well as a large selection of physical games that will be available over the next few weeks. Enjoy!

A game that needs no introduction – although, yes, it basically is an introduction – is The Last of Us Part I, the remake of Naughty Dog’s genre-defining epic that’s out right now!

Stray (Physical Version) – September 20

The digital edition may already be available from the PS Store and as part of your PS Plus subscription, but anyone looking to pick up a physical copy of Stray can do so on September 20th.

FIFA 23 – September 30

And on the 30th, EA is launching its latest footy sim, and the last from the studio named FIFA.

FIFA 23 is said to be the “most ambitious” FIFA game to date, with more crossplay possibilities, new Hypermotion 2 technology, the introduction of women’s club football and taking the game to new heights. Pre-orders are available below if you’re ready to get started, including the alternate cover Sam Kerr edition which is exclusive to Amazon UK. More pre-order options are available here.

On October 21, Warner Bros. launched Gotham Knights, an open-world action RPG set in “the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet”.

You can play either in solo-play or with another hero as you patrol Gotham’s five different boroughs and engage in criminal activity wherever you find it. Pre-orders are live ahead of launch:

The next Call of Duty shooting on a PlayStation near you is Modern Warfare 2, the sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare.

The game features a revamped, advanced AI system, enhanced rendering and photogrammetry techniques, a new gunsmith system that allows for greater customization, and much more, including new weapons, vehicles, and equipment to combat your deadly enemies. is said to be proud of Infinity Ward calls it “the most advanced Call of Duty in history,” which is quite a statement.
