Grand Theft Auto 6 is such an anticipated game it may well have reached mythical status for fans who are desperate to play Rockstar’s latest entry into the franchise, and it may be coming sooner rather than later after a fresh hint from the developers.
Grand Theft Auto 5 has been one of the highest-selling games of all time, but it was released way back in 2013.
The game has since had a number of releases, and has spanned multiple console generations; the game was initially released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and new instalments have been released on Xbox One and PS4, as well as Xbox Series X/S and PS5, along with PC.
GTA Online has also been a gigantic money-spinner from Rockstar, potentially explaining just why it has taken so long for GTA 6 to come down the pipe.
Rockstar has previously announced that they are working on the next title in the franchise, and they may have just rolled credits on GTA 5, hinting that GTA 6 is finally on its way.
Rockstar Hints at GTA 6
Quite simply, Rockstar appears to have said goodbye to GTA 5 in a new statement on their official website.
They have uploaded a “thank you” to their fans and developers, which reads: “Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online represent the combined efforts of our global team over many years. We want to acknowledge and thank everyone who has contributed to these games, from their original launch in 2013 all the way through to present day.”
Beneath that statement is a list of every single person who has worked on the two titles, which we would list, but we’d be here all day!
Fans are interpreting this as meaning that GTA 6 is set to be revealed soon, with the curtain having been brought down on GTA 5.
There have been no trailers, or any hints towards GTA 6 from Rockstar as yet but fans are clearly absolutely desperate for any new information that they may be able to get their hands on.
GTA 5’s success has been incredible, really, and the longevity has been remarkable, with it now going a full nine years since release.
