Microsoft launches a more affordable Elite controller

If you have been staring at the price tag of the Xbox Elite Controller thinking that $179 is just too much cash and “if only it was $50 cheaper”, you may be in luck. Microsoft has launched a more affordable variation of the Elite controller in the form of the “Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core”.

This new controller gives gamers a mid-tier option that comes with a list of features that still sets it apart from the normal wireless controllers. Features like adjustable-tension thumbsticks, shorter hair trigger locks, wrap-around rubberized grips, exclusive button mapping options, up to 40 hours of battery life (rechargeable), and more.

With a price tag of $129, it is still pretty expensive, but only to average gamers. When it comes to competitive and professional users, it’s a whole new story. There is a lot to gain from these customizations and features when it comes to getting an edge on the competition. Not only that, but gamers can upgrade it later into what would be the full Elite controller (for the most part).

The new controller will be shipping starting September 20th at 9 PM PST, but it can already be pre-ordered just about everywhere (links/buttons below). It is only (currently) available in white (with black grips).
