GameStop confirms that it will be hosting an in-store restock event for the Xbox Series X console at participating locations.
GameStop is one of the biggest video game retailers in the world, and it’s also one of the best bets for anyone that still has yet to get their hands on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X console. GameStop customers can make getting a PS5 or Xbox Series X console significantly easier if they sign up for the GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro program, which gives them first dibs on new stock.
The next GameStop restock event is specific to Microsoft’s Xbox Series X console. It’s unique in that it is an in-store only restock, whereas many retailers tend to do their restocks as online-only events. In any case, those who are signed up for the GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro program will have a chance to grab an Xbox Series X bundle from GameStop in-store on Friday, March 18, though availability will vary.
Anyone interested can click here to see if their local GameStop will have any Xbox Series X consoles in-stock. Assuming that they do, the bundle will most likely include an Xbox Series X console, an extra Xbox controller, three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and a $50.00 GameStop gift card. However, the exact items may vary by store. Pricing information for this Xbox Series X bundle is not available at the time of this writing.
While pricing information isn’t available, it’s still highly likely that GameStop customers will be getting a much better deal than if they had purchased an Xbox Series X console from a scalper. And as far the bundle itself goes, it comes with stuff that new Xbox Series X owners are going to want to get anyway. The GameStop gift card can be used to purchase a new game, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will get fans access to over 100 games right out of the box.
At this point, it almost doesn’t make sense to own an Xbox console without being subscribed to Game Pass, especially Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes all the Game Pass perks bundled with Xbox Live Gold online multiplayer capabilities. For most Xbox gamers, Game Pass practically pays for itself through its day one releases, and those that are vigilant about completing all the Xbox Game Pass and Microsoft Rewards quests can effectively have it for free for the rest of their lives.
This GameStop Xbox Series X restock comes hot off the heels of GameStop’s PS5 restock that it hosted recently, and fans can expect more restock events like this to take place in the months ahead.
