POLAND — The Chester Oldtimers split a pair of tournament games over the weekend in senior men’s baseball action at Poland High School.
On Saturday, Chester beat Poland 6-5 in extra innings to advance to the winner’s bracket final. Dave Smith had a walk-off single in the eighth for the win. Bill Sattler had the win in relief. Dave Smith, Mike Logston, Kevin Farrell and Doug Comm had two hits each.
Against Pittsburgh on Sunday, Chester fell 4-1. Smith had a double and single for Chester. Steve Bell and Doug Comm had two hits each. Chester will play Greenville (Pa.) on Saturday at Poland High School. The winner will meet Pittsburgh in the championship.
