Random: PS5, PS4’s pad was made for viral sensation Trombone Champion

Chances are you’ve heard of toot-’em-up Trombone Champion Until now. The hilarious rhythm game has been all over social media and taken streaming site Twitch by storm: it’s just the latest in a long line of viral video games to completely blow up on its Threadbare base. The thing is, its support for motion control makes it an ideal fit for DualSense or even DualShock 4.

For those of you who don’t know, Trombone Champ allows you to hit note markers moving your controller from right to left. It mimics the slide of a “real” trombone, and it’s got true Titanic flute cover energy. Chances are you’re going to hit quite a few bum notes along the way, and that’s a big part of the joke – it’s actually made for our very own Stephen Tailby.

The trombone champ performs classical music by composers such as Beethoven, as well as tunes such as the British national anthem – an influential time resulting from recent changes in the royal throne. Holy Wow Studios has yet to comment on a console port, but with DualSense’s haptic feedback and built-in motion controls, it’s easy to imagine how it will work.

Heck, developers can even use the PS5 pad’s microphone to simulate puffing in an in-game instrument — it’s a game of the year An opportunity if we’ve ever seen one!
