Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, developed by Level-5, will be released on the Nintendo Switch on September 17. Bandai Namco Entertainment, the franchise’s foreign distributor, published the sequel in 2018 on PC and PlayStation 4 consoles, following up on the sleeper hit Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch from 2013.
About the fact that Revenant Kingdom is set in the same universe as Wrath of the White Witch, the plot is set decades after the events of Wrath of the White Witch. As a result, players take on the part of Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, the boy king whose new existence starts after his claim to authority is deposed.
Revenant Kingdom even departs from the original game in that it foregoes the PS3 game’s turn-based combat mechanics. In order to cater to a broader audience, Level-5 redesigned the fight with a real-time system. Nintendo Switch buyers would be able to judge whether the studio’s attempts were fruitless by the end of the year.
According to Bandai Namco Entertainment, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The news was followed by an announcement trailer, which confirmed a September 27 release date for the new update. The Prince’s Edition of Ni no Kuni II for the Nintendo Switch will have both story expansions – The Lair of the Lost Lord and The Tale of a Timeless Tome.
The Prince’s Edition on Nintendo Switch may be a bargain depending on the price, which is currently unknown. Originally, players could buy the expansions as part of a $20 Season Pass or individually for $9.99 and $14.99.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, a smartphone game developed by Level-5 in collaboration with Netmarble, would further extend the dynamic universe of Ni no Kuni. The smartphone role-playing game, which will be released in select regions in June, will feature a brand new plot set several years after the events of Ni no Kuni II.
The lack of a clear connection between the two stories has previously stated that some of the sequel’s characters, monsters, and locations will appear in the Cross Worlds adventure.
