And while that will be a big blow to anyone on consoles and PC who’ve enjoyed the RPG brawler, there’s still plenty to look forward to.

Marvel’s Avengers will be replaced by Sony this week on the PS Now subscription service, starting July 6, 2021.

Every month, the tech giant adds a series of games to the PlayStation Now streaming service, one of which is guaranteed to be an indie title.

Seven games were added to the service in June, headlined by The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.

In recent months, Sony has moved beyond offering just three PS4 games, meaning any number could arrive next month.

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown was a surprising addition, combining a free launch on PlayStation Plus with the game also becoming playable on PS Now.

None of these games will go away this month, but there are a few changes you should know about in July.

While gamers won’t lose the Witcher 3 this month, they’ll have to say goodbye to Marvel’s Avengers. What makes this takedown a bit more painful is that Avengers has proven to be very popular across all platforms.

Sony confirmed that it was the most played game on the PS4 and PS5 consoles between March 1 and June 1, and the most played game on PC during the same period. What makes this a little more special is that while data was used from March 1 to June, Marvel’s Avengers wasn’t added to the service until April.

This means that even though it was only available for two out of three months, it still proved immensely popular with subscribers. So fans will be hoping for something special to fill the void left in 2021 by one of the most popular games available on the PS Now platform.

The good news is that there are plenty of new games that could take the place of Marvel’s Avengers. Marvel’s Spider-Man was a huge hit when it launched on PlayStation Now, and there are still plenty of first-party games to select from.

At least one of these new games will be from the indie genre, and it’s up to Sony how many titles will be added to the service in 2021. PS Now is a streaming service, so none of these games need to be downloaded and installed on your console.
