Guerilla just rolled out the newest update for the action-adventure, intended to offer smoother PS5 gameplay.

The open-world game now supports a 60 FPS experience for players owning the current generation of PlayStation. It’s for the backward compatibility mode.

Here are few more highlights from the just-released patch 1.53 for Horizon Zero Dawn:

  • Streaming issues are fixed when running the game in PS5 backward compatibility mode.
  • Graphics Mode option removed from Visual Settings when running on PS5 in backward compatibility mode.

Well, it’s always great to have an update like this and that too, an unexpected one!

Fans couldn’t have wished for more.

Apart from the latest patch and the arrival of key fixes and support, franchise lovers are currently anticipating the sequel’s release.

When will the sequel arrive?

Sadly, the news is not good for the followers of the Horizon series.

During this week’s Gamescom event, Guerilla confirmed that Horizon Forbidden West wouldn’t launch this year.

However, the positive aspect of this announcement is that the makers did reveal the exact date for its arrival. The game will launch on February 18, 2022.

Talking about the expected story, then only a few details are out in public. And it’s due to the breathtaking exclusive gameplay footage shown earlier this year in June.

The footage showed the protagonist Aloy who will embark on a new adventure full of fatal challenges and deadly foes. She has also changed slightly in her appearance, compared to the first part.

According to the devs, it’s because she has grown in the last six months following the events of Zero Dawn. So it’s quite obvious to have a variation in her face.

However, several people criticized Aloy’s appearance after the initial gameplay and complained that she didn’t look like a female. That was quite bizarre to witness, but social media is always full of such reactions.

Meanwhile, hardcore gamers are looking forward to the second installment when it eventually debuts in February.

It will be a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 exclusive.
