TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Downtown’s Bar_Botics arcade bar will be hosting its first “Gaming for Good” event Sunday, and those participating can get a free haircut while helping children dealing with hair loss.
Bar_Botics is partnering with Serendipity Salon to provide free haircuts for anyone willing to donate a minimum of eight inches of their hair to Children With Hair Loss, a Michigan organization that creates wigs for children with alopecia.
“You’ll have a professional salon doing your whole hair cut, the whole nine yards, giving you a really professional and nice look, so that is a nice added perk — you get a great awesome cut at the same time you’re helping out a lot of kids,” said Ethan Page, Bar_Botics’ co-owner.
The “Gaming for Good” program is a way for Bar_Botics to partner with nonprofits and help make a difference in the community. “What ‘Gaming for Good’ is going to be is, we’re going to open up nights throughout the week to where a non-for-profit can sign up to come in for that night and we will help them promote the event and everyone who comes into our space, we’ll donate a portion of our revenue to that non-for-profit,” Page said.
The hair-cutting event is scheduled for Sunday, April 11 from noon-2 p.m. at Bar_Botics, 671 Wabash Ave. Hair needs to be clean and dry when donating — and, again, a minimum of eight inches of hair is required to participate. To schedule an appointment, email barboticsarcade@gmail.com or message their Facebook or Instagram pages.
