A Mysterious New Silent Hill Game Has Been Rated In Korea

Rumours of a Silent Hill revival from Konami have been doing the rounds for quite some time now and it looks like it’s all-but-confirmed thanks to a new rating from The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea (cheers, Gematsu).

Titled, Silent Hill: The Short Message, the rating comes from UNIANA, a company that regularly publishes Konami games in Japan. Alongside The Short Message, eFootball 2023 was also rated at the same time, perhaps indicating that the new Silent Hill title is indeed the real deal.

As for what it might entail, well, that’s anyone’s guess right now. The title itself may insinuate that this will be another brief experience to act as a precursor to the main event, similar to 2015’s P.T (Silent Hills) demo from creators Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. Let’s hope this one doesn’t get unceremoniously cancelled.

The big question, of course, is whether this new title will come to Switch. We like to think of ourselves as optimists here at Nintendo Life, but even we’re a bit sceptical about this one. With the likes of Resident Evil 4, Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol, and Alan Wake II targeting PlayStation and Xbox systems, we won’t be holding our breath for Silent Hill.

Still, stranger things have happened!

What do you think Silent Hill: The Short Message is? A full game? A demo? Will it even come to Switch? Tell us in the comments!
