The PS4 production cycle has officially ended, so Sony isn’t releasing any further information about its past flagship. That data has fallen from the company’s latest financial report.
Of course the number of 117,2 million PS4 sold isn’t accurate and no update will be seen from the standpoint of this figure. Thus, the switch from the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5 was completed, although it was somehow quite odd.
We used to seeing that manufacturers stock old and new models side by side to stop the olds stock with a good discount policy, but on the PS4 we didn’t need that: there was virtually no leftover left to get rid of.
It’s also unusual that a new console still is supported like Sony, given that God of War Ragnarok will be released on November 9. This can be seen as the platform swan song in terms of exclusives from the studio.
Aside from the third party, the situation is completely different. The long-awaited PS4 installation base will continue to operate fairly easily in the coming months, which will also be expected to come to a tight release schedule.
