All-Star Battle R now available; see the launch trailer here

It’s official, the highly anticipated update to 2013’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle is now available for purchase across all major gaming platforms.

Bandai Namco is celebrating the release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R with a brand new launch trailer, which you can view below.

First off, this fresh fighting game rolls out with a roster of no fewer than 50 playable characters. Said fighters hail from all over the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga, meaning you’ll all but certainly be able to find at least one that perfectly fits your style of play.

Players will also be treated to a completely modernized version of the fight system from the original game, upping the tempo with hit stops, dash jumps, intricate new combos, and an all-new “Assist” battle system.

There are also six different game modes through which to explore the title. A traditional arcade mode allows players to fight their way through a ladder of eight computer-controlled opponents. (There’s also an “Endless” version of this that tests users to see how far they can get on just one health bar.)

Versus mode allows for one on one or three on three team battles with either friends or AI foes, while online mode pits players against one another from over the internet. There’s also a standard training mode, as well as a special customization mode where characters’ victory poses and taunts can be altered for specialized celebrating.

The All Star Battle Mode places users in special scenarios that nod to well known moments in JoJo’s canon. Epic showdowns of old as well as unique “what if?” situations will be explored in this exciting single player mode.
