All You Can Eat Update Adding New Levels, Chefs, and More

Overcooked: All You Can Eat is getting a free update later this month that will add brand-new levels to the co-op cooking game. Overcooked: All You Can Eat combines the first two Overcooked games and gives them a significant makeover, updating the graphics, streamlining the gameplay features, and more. It allows all the Overcooked levels released so far to exist in a single hub, and now fans of the game will have even more levels to complete.

There has been some controversy over Team17 and Ghost Town Games abandoning Overcooked 2 in favor of releasing new levels exclusively for Overcooked: All You Can Eat, and while some fans may still be upset about that, those who have upgraded will soon have a big reason to return to the Onion Kingdom.

Overcooked: All You Can Eat‘s next big update is arriving on October 12 to celebrate World Food Day. This completely free update will add 10 new levels to Overcooked: All You Can Eat spread across three distinct biomes (Baked Bazaar, Metro Mash, and Pepper Plaza). Three new Overcooked chefs will be available (Globe, Fox, and an alternate Goldfish skin) to help complete the two new recipes: bobotie and curry. The update will also be introducing a brand-new gameplay mechanic in the form of delivery bags. These bags serve as an obstacle that can impede one’s cooking, and they won’t go away until players deliver the correct raw ingredients to them.

While the new content is undoubtedly the most exciting thing about the upcoming Overcooked: All You Can Eat update, it should be noted that it will be doing more than adding new chefs and levels. The update will also be adding enhanced accessibility options to the game on top of addressing some lingering bugs and technical issues that have been plaguing it, too. One downside is that the update will not be adding any new achievements or trophies to the game. The only question remains is if this will be the last big update for Overcooked: All You Can Eat, or if fans can expect even more updates in future.

Some fans may be anxious for an Overcooked 3 at this point, especially considering the controversy surrounding the free updates for Overcooked: All You Can Eat. While it’s hard to complain about free content, Overcooked: All You Can Eat mostly consisting of levels from the first two Overcooked games meant that many fans couldn’t justify buying the game. It makes sense that they feel slighted that the new content isn’t coming to them despite the fact that they were earlier supporters, but those hard feelings would likely go away in the case of an actual Overcooked 3.
