Released in late 2012, the Nintendo Wii U was a commercial failure that Nintendo would probably rather forget about, although it hasn’t. This happens since it recently received a new surprise update almost 9 years after its original release.
Through its support page, Nintendo announced that version 5.5.5 for the firmware for Nintendo Wii U is now available. It should be mentioned that this is not an update that should excite you or anything like that. After all, Nintendo released it without any kind of advertisement.

But what does this new firmware version do? What happens is that it is simply an update that serves to “make improvements to the stability of the system”, as well as “minor adjustments to improve the user experience”. You probably won’t even notice any difference after updating.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first update that the Nintendo Wii U receives since June 24, 2019. There is no doubt that few of us expected that it would receive another update, especially after this console was already discontinued.
