Ark 2 is reportedly set to release on both PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, following a timed-release on Xbox and PC.
Studio Wildcard confirmed the existence of Ark 2 back in 2020 at The Game Awards, with an official reveal trailer starring none other than Vin Diesel. Ever since the announcement, fans have been a little confused about the exclusivity status of the upcoming sequel.

Reports Suggest Ark 2 Will Be Timed Xbox Exclusive
A YouTuber by the name of GP has reportedly spoken to the CEO of Studio Wildcard, Doug Kennedy, who reaffirmed Ark 2 fans that the game would only be a timed Xbox exclusive. Although this was previously revealed by Microsoft themselves following Ark 2‘s announcement, it now seems as though we could have confirmation from Doug Kennedy that Ark 2 will be coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
In his statement to GP, Doug Kennedy said “I’ll say this, it is always our plan to make Ark & Ark II available on as many platforms as possible for as many people possible so, at some point you can expect Switch and PlayStation in that mix”.
It’s worth noting that we have no way of confirming if this is truly the real Doug Kennedy from Studio Wildcard, as the screenshots displayed in the video could have easily been faked. So, we recommend you take this news with a pinch of salt for the time being.
With that being said, Microsoft’s own newswire post from 2020 does state that Ark 2 will be an “Xbox Series X|S console launch exclusive”, meaning Xbox owners will get the chance to play first. As pointed out by Microsoft, the Ark franchise has a long history with the Xbox community. Ark: Survival Evolved was originally a console launch exclusive in the Xbox Game Preview program back in December of 2015, before it launched for all other platforms in 2017.
So, if you want to play Ark 2 on launch, you’ll need to get yourself an Xbox Series X|S. It has yet to be confirmed exactly when the title will launch for PlayStation and Switch, but fans will likely be waiting a year at minimum.
