Aztec Cybernetic Adventure Aztech Forgotten Gods Delayed to 2022

Lienzo, the publishers and developers of Mulaka, have announced an Aztech Forgotten Gods delay as the game will be launching on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam in Q1 2022. This is instead of the previously announced release window of Fall 2021.

To tide players over however, they will be able to try a demo available through the Steam Next Fest running Friday, Oct. 1 through Thursday, October 7, 2021. If can’t wait until then, you could definitely check out Mulaka from the same developer, which our own Andrew Otton called “promising”, which the “Very Positive” Steam reviews seem to back up. There’s also Project Buramoto, which like Aztech Forgotten Gods is exploring a lesser-known part of the world.

“We want players to have the best possible experience in the amazing world the team has created,” said Guillermo Vizcaino, Head of PR & Marketing and Lead Writer, Lienzo. “The first-ever Aztech Forgotten Gods demo gives us the chance to share the latest updates to the game and the opportunity to invite players into Tenochtitlan ahead of our Q1 2022 launch!”

Players will be fighting for Tenochtitlan, the jewel of the Aztech Empire. After being left untouched for centuries, Aztech Empire continued to progress technologically, which means that the game’s heroine, Achtli, will face a powerful enemy as a result. I mean, you can’t it that easy, right?

Achtli will use Lightkeeper, an ancient prosthetic weapon that’s powered by mysterious energy to kick ass and take names. You’ll use Lightkeeper to clear chasms and close the distance to her foes very quickly. In the demo, you’ll face off against Coatlicue, the All-Mother Goddess, and show off both your skills and your chasm-clearing prowess. It appears the game will be drawing on action-adventure, and 3D Platformer aspects for gameplay.

Aztech Forgotten Gods will launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam for Windows PC in Q1 2022 with English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Russian-language support. A playable demo will be available on Steam through the Steam Next Fest between Oct.1-7, 2021.
