Battlefield 2042 Won’t Have 120 FPS Support on PS5 & Xbox Series X

A developer at DICE has announced that the FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Battlefield 2042 won’t be what fans were hoping for.

Battlefield 2042 is definitely one of the most ambitious games of the year. Featuring huge maps and an even bigger player count, getting the game to run smoothly was never going to be an easy task.

Unfortunately for gamers on next-gen consoles, though, a smooth-running game has come at the cost of a lower frame rate, even on 120Hz monitors.

A DICE developer has now revealed information about the FPS of Battlefield 2042 on PS5 and Xbox Series X. This will be a major disappointment for many gamers.

But first, the latest Battlefield 2042 trailer features huge frame drops and FPS issues.

No Battlefield 2042 120Hz Support on Next-Gen Consoles – PS5 & Xbox Series X

Battlefield 2042 has had a number of development troubles so it is a testament to developer DICE that the game is in a working state right now. However, some fans won’t want to hear the news about the games FPS on next-gen.

A DICE developer on the ResetEra forums has revealed more info about the frame rate of Battlefield 2042 on next-gen consoles. Unfortunately, it won’t reach the lofty heights of 120 FPS on next-gen consoles.

In fact, it looks very likely that Battlefield 2042 will run at just 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. This is thanks to the huge maps allowing 128 players in each match.
