On August 31, the Team Reptile Games Twitter account announced that “Bomb Rush Cyberfunk” will be delayed until Summer 2023. Team Reptile wrote, “We are convinced that releasing the game this year will not take it to a level we would be personally satisfied with.” Team Reptile previously promised a 2022 release for the title, according to its Nintendo store page.
Unsurprisingly, fans were disappointed to hear the news that this highly anticipated game would be delayed until next year. However, many were understanding for the most part. Fans littered the replies with the famous quote, “a delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever,” which is oftentimes attributed to Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto (per Game Rant). Many wholesome replies also made sure to tell the developers to take as much time as needed with the game.
Team Reptile also announced that fans are getting at least getting treat in the coming days. In a follow-up tweet, Team Reptile wrote that the team would showcase more sneak peeks within the coming week so that fans could get a glimpse at the current state of the game. In the meantime, players can always boot up “Jet Set Radio,” which is now available on multiple consoles and PC via its HD upgrade.
