The Call of Duty League (CoD League) schedule has been revealed by Activision for the 2023 season, including Majors and host teams.

The 2023 season will start on Friday December 2nd 2022. That’s just over one month after the new CoD game launches – CoD Modern Warfare 2 – on October 28th.

This means two weeks of qualifiers will take place online leading up to the first LAN event from December 15th to 18th 2022: Major 1. This event will be hosted by the Call of Duty League live in Raleigh, North Carolina, in the US.

As usual, fans are able to bet on CoD esports matches as well as traditional sports, with sites like bovada mobile available to punters.

Activision says that Major 1 will adopt a Pro-Am (professional/amateur) format with Challengers teams going head to head with pro players. CDL points and some half a billion dollars in prizing will be up for grabs.

Speaking of Challengers, the first Challengers Open of the 2023 season is scheduled to take place on site from December 16th to 18th.

Then, looking towards the Call of Duty: Mobile Championship, its first ever LAN championship will take place in Raleigh with a whopping $1.7m prize pool.

On top of this, the Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E) Bowl will also get underway live at the event, with US and UK military esports teams competing to be crowned the 2022 C.O.D.E. Bowl champion.

Activision says that pro players and content creators will be involved.

What about the other CoD Major events in the 2023 season?

As well as Major 1 on December 15th to 18th in Raleigh, Boston Breach will host Major II.

Murph Vandervelde, president and co-founder of the Boston Breach, said: “Growing up in Boston as a die-hard sports fan, coupled with building the Breach alongside my brother Jack, father Murph Sr. and partner Adam Morrison, it is a childhood dream come true bringing Boston its first Call of Duty Major.”

Major III will be hosted by OpTic Texas, who will be looking to win at their home ground once more after last year.

It’ll be the New York Subliners playing host to the CoD Major IV, with fans gathering in Brooklyn once more to watch some top CoD esports action.

The Major V location has not yet been revealed, but at Esports News UK we’re pinning our hopes on the London Royal Ravens hosting this in London once again, with London Royal Ravens MD ODEE hinting at more events in the future.
