US approves Boeing inspection, rework plan to resume 787 deliveries
The US Federal Aviation Administration approved Boeing’s inspection and modification plan to resume deliveries of 787 Dreamliners, two people briefed on the matter said.The FAA approved Boeing’s proposal that requires specific inspections to verify the condition of the airplane meets requirements and that all work has been completed, a move that should allow Boeing to resume deliveries in August after it halted them in May 2021, the sources said.

Spain registers monkeypox death

Blinken off to Asia, Africa
Secretary of State Antony Blinken is headed to Asia and Africa, the State Department said Friday, as the US and rivals China and Russia intensify their battle for global influence amid deepening divisions over Taiwan and Russia’s war in Ukraine. Blinken will begin a five-nation tour of the two continents next week, starting in Cambodia where he will attend a Southeast Asian regional security forum at which both the Chinese and Russian foreign ministers are also expected to attend. Blinken will then visit the Philippines, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
Encounter breaks out between security forces, militants in J-K’s Baramulla
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Wanigam Bala in the Kreeri area of the district following information about the presence of militants there, a police official said. He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened firing on the security forces, who retaliated.
