Coyotes play two baseball games today

The Uvalde Coyotes will begin action in the Highway 123 Classic baseball tournament with a doubleheader tonight at Seguin High School.

At 6 p.m., the Coyotes will face the Lufkin Panthers in their tourney opener, while they will take on the San Antonio Christian Lions in game set to begin at 8 p.m.

Coach Sart Perez’s Coyotes are in Pool C of the tournament.

Tournament action will continue through Saturday. Coach Perez’s Coyotes will enter play tonight coming off a 5-1 road win Tuesday against Southwest Legacy.

Down 1-0, the Coyotes tied the game with one run in the third inning.They scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and scored three times in the seventh inning to clinch their win.

This weekend, the Uvalde junior varsity baseball tournament is scheduled at Marvin Kolinek Field.
