Whilst the likes of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the recently released LEGO Brawls, and Forza’s own take on the bricky goodness are already available, what we have been craving for years is a true LEGO video game, allowing us to build to our heart’s content. Enter, LEGO Bricktales!
Releasing today onto Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Switch fronts, Bricktales has you in charge of reinvigorating your grandfather’s dilapidated old theme park, through the medium of LEGO and LEGO alone. Given the tactile, customisable nature of the bricks, the world is your oyster when it comes to building decorations to adorn the park, market stalls to satiate hungry visitors to the park, and of course the all-important rides that are the centrepieces.
Whether you are building atop a medieval castle, kicking back in the sun, or producing the best theme park tucked away in the Caribbean, in each biome you’ll be set a number of puzzles to complete. In these you’ll be helping the cutesy LEGO minifigures put together a suitable build from a set of bricks provided. Some of the best, but also most fiendish, of these puzzles come when physics get involved: the cranes and gyrocoptors you build must at least resemble some form of real-world analogue, forcing you to apply science to all this fun. With the game being produced by ClockStone Studio, of Bridge Constructor fame, you can bet your bottom dollar that a whole host of bridges will be involved too!
“We’re thrilled to finally release LEGO Bricktales on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC today,” said Dieter Schoeller, Vice-President of Production at Thunderful. “We can’t wait to see what creative builds our players will come up with and I know I’ll be checking out social media to see what our players have been putting together using the game’s brick-by-brick building mechanic!”
If you see yourself as a budding LEGO architect capable of building the best parks the world has seen, then make sure to check out LEGO Bricktales on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC and Switch. For Xbox gamers, you can pick up a copy of the game courtesy of the Xbox Store.
