CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 has been played by a million players every day this week. This is reflected in our Xbox Gameplay Chart, where the game has seen a sudden surge in players.
CD Projekt Red has taken to Twitter to post a thank you message to fans for their support and for Cyberpunk 2077‘s one million daily players milestone. The uptake in players is something we’ve seen on our own Xbox gameplay chart, which shows Cyberpunk climbing ten places this week!
Cyberpunk 2077 climbs ten places on Xbox Gameplay Chart
Posting via the game’s official Twitter page, the developer said: “Each day of this week Night City has been visited by one million players, both new and returning. We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and playing the game. Thanks, Chooms!”
CD Projekt’s futuristic RPG has been popping up in the news a bunch over the last month, which is sure to have fanned the flames of this monumental milestone — not many non-live service games celebrate player revivals of this magnitude, two years after release, especially with the crippling start Cyberpunk 2077 had. We saw the start of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Netflix anime series take us on a fresh and violent romp through Night City, which is sure to have pushed more than a few players towards the game. Additionally, the first, and potentially only, Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty, was announced, although it won’t be coming to Xbox One.
Due to that, we’ve seen Cyberpunk 2077 climb ten places on our Gameplay Chart, strutting past the likes of Sea of Thieves and Dead by Daylight to sit in the 22nd place of our top 40.
