CD Projekt Red has rolled out the first details of the next big Cyberpunk 2077 update, which is supposedly launching in the relatively near future. However, before we get into things, we’d caution against getting your hopes up. These initial improvements appear to be minor at best, but we assume that the developer is working on a lot more.
For starters, the game’s absolutely terrible police system is being overhauled — at least to some degree. Instead of just spawning out of thin air the second you commit a crime, Night City’s law enforcement will arrive on the scene in a more natural manner. You can see a demonstration in the short video below.
Next, driving sensitivity options are being added, in an attempt to make vehicles feel less like they’re skidding around on ice. Again, a somewhat minor improvement, but it sounds like a good idea.
Sticking with vehicles, patch 1.2 will incorporate a way to rock your vehicle, should you find yourself trapped on awkward terrain:
And er, that’s about it for now. Hopefully these improvements are just the start, and CD Projekt Red hits us with some more impressive news in the near future. There’s no concrete timeline for when we can expect update 1.2 to release, but we have to imagine that’s it’s currently in heavy development and testing.
After all, Cyberpunk 2077 is still missing from the PlayStation Store, almost three months since launch. Patch 1.2 simply has to make a good impression.
