Developed by Bohemia Interactive, DayZ is an online survival game that takes place in a huge open world full of dangers and with emergent narrative.
DayZ is currently available for old-gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One) and Windows. Since its release in 2013, the game continues to maintain a strong player base to this day.
Recently, DayZ developers released the 1.17 experimental update. This allows players to test some changes and new features before being implemented in the stable updates.
However, the DayZ 1.17 experimental update made targeting harder due to a sensitivity issue where controllers respond erratically. Xbox players seem to be the most affected by the controller issues after the update.
DayZ sensitivity issue on Xbox after 1.17 experimental update
According to multiple reports, DayZ targeting system on consoles is now worse due to the sensitivity issue brought by the 1.17 experimental update (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).
Aim movements are abrupt and robotic, and even diagonal movements have gotten worse. So, now it’s much more difficult to aim correctly for many players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
New console sensitivity options on experimental made aiming 10x harder
Console aiming was already horrible enough but now you cant even have slow camera speed while aiming, even when the sensitivity is at the lowest option possible, it just makes it so you look around really abruptly and robotically, there is no way to make the camera move slowly anymore so you cant snipe or even aim at close range accurately, even more so if its a moving target.

Hello, please revert experimental controls. I get it, experimental is to expirment, but the sensitivity is horrible on controller. Diagonal doesn’t work at all. Controller sensitivity was perfect on regular dayz. Experimental sensitivity would make me not play the game again.

Not even minimizing the pointer speed in the game settings helps to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, some players suggest that adding a ‘sensitivity multiplier’ could help resolve the issue.
Hey! I have a little feedback. The normal (non-aiming) sensitivity is way too low for a lot of us on console. Is there any way you can fix this? Maybe adding a multiplier will help.

Developers already aware and working on a fix
The DayZ developers are already aware of the glitch and are working on a fix. The next stable (non-experimental) update of the game will arrive on April 19.
Hi Crave, we are aware of the sensitivity bugs and we are working on the fix.
