Eric Baptizat has been named as the director behind the Dead Space remake, having previously helmed Ubisoft’s critically-acclaimed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Having worked at Ubisoft for 16 years, which saw him involved in multiple Assassin’s Creed games, Baptizat joined up with EA Motive earlier this year to work on an unannounced project — which is now confirmed to be Dead Space. He’s joined by ex-Ubisoft developer, Roman Campos-Oriola, who served as creative director on For Honor.
Dead Space remake is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and has yet to attract a release date. The game is a full-blown overhauling of Visceral Games’ 2008 survival horror title of the same name.

EA Motive has confirmed that Dead Space remake won’t feature microtransactions, and the team is looking to expand its audience with the game via new accessibility options. Glen Schofield, one of the creators behind the original Dead Space, has said he’s excited to see what the team comes up with.
