Deal to develop gaming and Esports


Zain Bahrain has joined with the Bahrain Esports Federation and Saudi Arabian global technology company called PLAYHERA to help grow and strengthen gaming and Esports across the island, a Press conference revealed yesterday.

The partnership was announced at the telecom company’s headquarters in Seef in the presence of Zain Bahrain director of communications and investor relations Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Bahrain Esports Federation president Hussain AlKooheji and PLAYHERA MENA chairman and chief executive Naif Mulaeb.

Bahrain School and Collegiate Athletic Association (BSCAA) vice-president Mohamed Rashid Al Shhi also spoke at the event.

Zain Bahrain signed a three-year partnership with BSCAA to build an Esports ecosystem and advocate its values in the kingdom and will be organising and launching the first-ranked Esports Summer Championship in the kingdom open for all gamers aged 13-22.

“Esports continues to grow dramatically in popularity and participation, particularly amongst young people, and the Middle East is one of the fastest-growing gaming regions in the world, and Zain Bahrain aims to explore and create opportunities for enthusiasts,” said Shaikh Abdulla.

“We hope to play a major regional role as an enabler of Esports, to grow the gaming ecosystem collectively, and give gamers the support they deserve to compete globally.
