Demon’s Souls PS5 Director Gavin Moore Confirms He Has Left Sony Japan Studio

Looks like it’s things are changing for better or for worse over at Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan, as Demon’s Souls PS5 director Gavin Moore confirms that he has left Sony Japan Studio after over two decades working with the company.

As reported by VGC and in a post made in his Twitter page, Moore thanked everyone he worked with and who was a fan of his works, and stated that he is looking forward to the new opportunities that are coming,

After 24 years at Sony and 18 of those in Japan, yesterday was my last day at #JAPANStudio. I will miss the great creative spirit and camaraderie of the studio that was a huge part of my life. Time to seek out new and exciting opportunities!!

With Moore’s departure comes the new restructuring and direction SIE is taking by absorbing Sony Japan Studio into its Worldwide Studios operations and downsizing its workforce. Besides the Demon’s Souls remake, SJS was also known for their work in the Gravity Rush and Ape Escape series, and now the future truly is an open book on what comes next for Moore and his former team who have also left and departed for other opportunities and endeavors outside of Sony.

Speaking of restructuring and decisions made by Sony, the company along with RTS recently purchased the EVO Championship Series.
