Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson is reporting that Disney’s internal Star Wars schedule is now aiming for new games every six months or so, including “one major AAA title and one smaller game” per year.
The report also lists the Star Wars titles we already know are in development right now, although some aren’t set to release for some time yet. One of those titles is Quantic Dream’s project, Eclipse, which was officially revealed at The Game Awards 2021.
Earlier on last year, EA lost its exclusive license to develop Star Wars games, which means the IP is now open to a broader set of development studios. Even so, EA is still developing multiple Star Wars titles itself, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor from Respawn Entertainment. If this reported Disney schedule is accurate, EA’s efforts will likely remain a major component of future Star Wars plans.
For now, this is just a report and should be taken as such. Even with that in mind, it’s looking like a lot more Star Wars is heading our way in the near future!
