DFM redeemed itself in its second matchup of the day against Chiefs Esports Club (CHF). CHF fought back against DFM pretty well in the first 15 minutes and picked up some kills. Despite Chiefs picking up the first Herald, it was lagging behind in terms of dragons and turrets. A good team fight for DFM translated into the first Baron Nashor. However, after it wore out, DFM had to force a fight near the dragon. After acing the team, DFM picked up its first win at Worlds 2022.
Redemption for Evil Geniuses
Evil Geniuses won both its games on Day 2 of Worlds 2022 against LOUD and Beyond Gaming (BYG). The early game in the EG vs LOUD matchup involved many kills on both sides and with LOUD going toe-to-toe with the North American (NA) squad with its team fighting comp. LOUD aced EG at 19-minutes and but a poor macro play meant that the team lost all its members and the Baron Nashor to EG. The NA squad ended the game in under 36-minutes following this.
EG’s second game against BYG was dominant with Joseph Joon “jojopyun” Pyun popping off on Sylas. At 15 minutes, EG had a 5K gold lead and fifteen minutes later, it took down Baron Nashor, which helped the team close out the game soon after.
Saigon Buffalo wins against Isurus, loses to DRX
In the Saigon Buffalo (SGB) vs Isurus (ISG) matchup, Isurus was quite dominant in the early game where it picked up more kills than its opponent and also mechanically outplayed SGB. However, in the mid-game, SGB won back-to-back team fights and slowly got the upper hand. After collecting Baron Nashor, SGB pushed both bot and mid lanes and closed out the match with SGB’s attack-damage carry (ADC) Nguyễn “Shogun” Văn Huy picking up a pentakill on Aphelios.
Going into its second match of the day, Saigon Buffalo was the underdog team. At 17 minutes, DRX had two towers and also a 5K gold lead over SGB. DRX picked up Baron Nashor at around 22 minutes and ended the game in the next two minutes.
RNG stops MAD Lions’ win streak

RNG was diving towers and claiming space in MAD’s jungle, showing its upper hand. With the dragon soul and the Baron Nashor under its belt, RNG had an 8K gold lead at 30 minutes and closed out the game soon.

Many people were surprised to see Istanbul Wildcats (IW) go toe-to-toe with DRX in the first few minutes of the game. However, the gold gap widened in favor of DRX soon enough. At 15 minutes, DRX had eight kills more than IW and also had a 7K gold lead. With Baron Nashor going to DRX, the team opened up IW’s base. IW failed to fend off DRX and eventually, its Nexus fell.
