eFootball 2022: Konami Confirm Update 0.9.1 Coming This Week

The developers of eFootball 2022 have confirmed that the first patch will come this week after what has been a disastrous launch for the rebranded virtual football sim.

Konami have come under some serious flack following the game’s release last month which attracted attention for all the wrong reasons, due to the number of bugs and technical glitches that were identified in-game.

One aspect that was highlighted over the over-exuberant facial expressions of some of the players, which provoked negative reactions on Metacritic.

Despite Konami holding a solid reputation due to gaming series such as Metal Gear Solid over the years, they decided to rip up the script and replace their hugely successful Pro Evolution Soccer franchise and opted for a new free-to-play gaming model.

After previously apologising to fans shortly after launch, Konami have pledged to make the appropriate changes to ensure that uninterrupted gameplay all around is achieved.

eFootball Update 0.9.1

While the release date of the first patch was unclear for a while, Konami confirmed that the first patch, titled 0.9.1, will be launched on Friday 5th November 2021 for PS5, PS4, PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with mobile versions expected to be treated differently,

Via eFootball’s official Twitter account, they said:

“eFootball™ 2022 v0.9.1 will be released on November 5 for PC/consoles.

“This update serves to fix bugs only, with detailed patch notes made available on our website at the time of release.

“Thank you for your patience.”

It is long overdue and something that players have wanted for weeks, especially those that opted to persevere with the in-game who are likely to be PES loyalists.

That being said, time will tell whether the bug fixes that are coming will make any difference, or if it will rapidly transform the gameplay for the better.

Time will tell when we see the comprehensive and detailed patch notes at the end of the week.
