Konami’s eFootball, formerly known as PES 2022, is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X for free. The new game, now running on Unreal Engine, includes cross-play support across all platforms with more content being added to it in updates post-launch.
Konami has confirmed that eFootball will provide true cross-play across all platforms, including mobile. However, there is a catch – mobile players will need to use a controller to play against console players. eFootball will also offer free updates to its roster and other features as the months and years roll by.
eFootball Free-To-Play Roadmap
While the game’s status at launch seems to be a little dry of exciting content, Konami has published a roadmap which dives deeper into what players can expect to see added later. These include the launch of the mobile version of the game, online leagues, the “Match Pass” system, and more. eFootball is available on PC (Steam, Windows Store), Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and will make its way to smartphones at a later date.
