Employee Splurges On Gaming App, Concocts Robbery Story | Ludhiana News

Ludhiana: An employee of a money transfer and mobile recharge shop in Daba concocted a robbery story after he spent his employer’s Rs 84,000 on an online gaming application on Saturday afternoon.
The shop owner, Ramninderpal Singh Bhatia, had earlier told the police, “Around 1pm Saturday, I left for lunch while my employee Sambhav Jain was at the shop. After some time, two men came on a bike. They entered the shop posing as customers and said they wanted to get a cellphone recharged. Sambhav asked them to share the cellphone number to recharge it. The duo then took out a pistol and asked him to hand over to them all the money.”
Quoting Sambhav, he added, “When Sambhav said there was no cash in the shop, they pointed the pistol at his head and threatened to shoot him. They opened the cash drawer and escaped with Rs 84,000.”
Commissioner of police Kaustubh Sharma said, “The Rs 84,000 robbery is a concocted story. The employee spent that money on an online game.”
