Should you download Disney Melee Mania on Apple Arcade?
With the box office success of Spider-Man: No Way Home proving people can’t get enough of the web-slinger, we’re looking at the recently revealed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. A proper sequel to Insomniac Games’ 2018 action-adventure featuring your neighborhood friendly Spider-Man, not much is known about the new project except for what was shared during the PlayStation Showcase. So here’s a brief recap of everything we know about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Release Date and Platforms
Unfortunately, we’ll be waiting at least another year before we get to swing through the streets as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a release window of 2023. And if you don’t own a PS5 yet, you may want to think about getting one as the game was announced as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. Hopefully by 2023 the chip shortages ease up and PS5s become more readily available.

A “Human Story”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature a story starring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Although Parker was the star of the first game, Miles Morales did come into his own during the game and even got his own standalone sequel/DLC in 2020 which launched alongside the PS5. I highly recommend you play both games leading up to the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
As for the story, while details are still being kept under wraps, Insomniac Games promised to deliver “a compelling human story, one full of heart and humor that dives deep into the people behind the mask.”
New and returning characters
As I mentioned, Peter Parker and Miles Morales are returning for the sequel and they will be voiced by returning actors Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter, respectively. Joining them is actor Tony Todd (Candyman) who will voice the symbiote-fueled Venom, one of Spider-Man’s most iconic foes. Venom is considered an anti-hero so it will be interesting to see what kind of story Insomniac Games can craft with such an interesting character.
