Excited to Give Life to League of Legends’ First LGBTQ Black Champion

Riot Games finally unveiled the new League of Legends champion K’Sante on 13th October and gave the players a sneak peek into his story and the land of Nazumah. The company already noted that K’Sante will be a high-skill tank bruiser and his release seems to be very special to the game and the community. Though it is not very clear when exactly K’Sante will be released in the game, players can expect to see the champion on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) for testing very soon.

K’Sante’s voice actor DeObia Oparei expressed happiness as he talked about the collaboration with Riot Games. He wrote on Twitter, “I’m excited to give life and voice to K’Sante and make history portraying the first LGBTQ black Champion Warrior @LeagueOfLegends.

Who is K’Sante?

Nazumah’s pride K’Sante is a fierce hunter who has taken down a humongous monster and turned its hide into weapons called ntofos. According to Riot Games, he can turn these blunt weapons into blades and use them in battle. Notably, K’Sante happens to be League of Legends’ proper, dedicated tank champion as Riot Games moved away from this subset after Ornn’s release in 2017.

K’Sante’s official champion reveal video called him the “Hunter” and his lover was called the “Archer.” The video stated that the Hunter felt invincible with his ntofos in his hand and his lover by his side. The Archer urged the Hunter to temper his skills with strategy but K’Sante overlooked the fact that the biggest monster was his arrogance and pride. As he paid no heed to the Archer’s words of advice, the Archer left, and finally K’Sante acknowledged his monster.

In the teaser that was released earlier this week, K’Sante declared, “I, K’Sante, stand between them and my people! To the end.

Nazumah does not bow to emperor Azir and under the guidance and command of K’Sante, the city-state of Nazumah will tackle giant monsters. They have defeated many such monsters to stay hydrated and built their society around the water source. Lead champion producer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles said, “This new champion leads the warriors of Nazumah to hunt those same monsters using the rare resources they gain to build their infrastructure and weapons.

It is also reported that Lil Nas X, who wrote and sang this year’s Worlds 2022 anthem: Star Walkin, will be working with the skin team on the Prestige skin for K’Sante. Prestige Empyrean K’Sante skin will be released on 3rd November and it shall be available until 14th November. It will reportedly be available for 2,000 Worlds 2022 tokens obtained via the event pass.
