If you’re a Formula 1-loving gamer, odds are you probably already own F1 22, the latest iteration of Codemasters’ sim racer. However, for those still curious to give the game a try, it will soon be free to play for a few days.
From tomorrow, 20th October, through to 24th October, the game will enter a free trial period, in which you can download and play the game for no charge. This coincides with the real-life US Grand Prix at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas, or COTA for short. To celebrate, there will be some American-themed in-game items available for free as well.
The above video promotes the free period, but it’s also a fun watch — McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo hops into the game to provide some tips and advice for getting around the American circuit. There will also be an in-game challenge, in which you can attempt to beat Ricciardo’s fastest lap. You can share your best time using hashtags #RicciardoChallenge and #F122gameSweepstakes during the free trial weekend. If you do, you’ll be entered into a draw with a chance to win “a virtual meet & greet and race-off with Daniel Ricciardo himself”.
